Supporting Student Success: Collaboration Between the English Department and the Writing Center

The English Department and the Writing Center built a program to bring Writing Coaches into specific WRIT 1010 sections on specific days to do mini-workshops and provide focused support to students during the writing process for significant assignments. Through these classroom visits, students were able to get to know a Writing Coach with whom they worked on assignments outside of class. Students were shown how to use the writing resources available to them at Webster as a way to better integrate student support structures into the classroom and build a bridge between departments. Learn about the benefits, challenges, and outcomes of this program and how a similar program may support you and your students.
