http://www.webster.edu/faculty/fdc/programs/reflective-teaching-community.htmlBased on growing demand, the Reflective Teaching Community announces new remote sessions of the learning community, hosted via WebEx for instructors across our network. These sessions continue the learning community’s year-long exploration of the theme of experiential and place-based learning, and all are welcome.
All full-time and part-time instructors across Webster’s worldwide network are invited to join us, including on-ground instructors, online instructors, and WebNet+ instructors. These informal monthly conversations are opportunities to share effective teaching strategies and build community across the network.
The 2019-20 theme for RTC is "Where is this going? Exploring experiential and place-based learning." This year, we will explore how experiential learning (learning by doing) and place-based learning (engaging students in local to global communities) can enrich and deepen learning for all students.
The January 16 session will be hosted by Kim Kleinman, Director of Undergraduate Advising, and will introduce participants to the year's theme, "Exploring Experiential and Place-based learning."
