https://www.tzuchi.us/onbuddhaspath/Presented by the the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, Second Chances will feature the work that goes on at the business founded in 2015 by the Rev. Kalen McAllister.
McAllister, a Buddhist priest and former chaplain at the Farmington Correctional Center, hires ex-convicts in the hopes that the employment will lead the ex-offenders onto a path to better jobs.
The bakery operates out of the basement at Centenary United Methodist Church in downtown St. Louis. It sells its wares at the Farmington prison, Straub’s grocery stores, Smokehouse Market, St. Louis Cinemas and area farmers markets.
