About this Event
(Małgorzata Szumowska and Michal Englert, 2020, United States, 90 minutes)
Poland's most recent submission to the Academy for the Best International Film category, described by Jonathan Romney of Screen Daily as being "somewhere between Twin Peaks and Pasolini's Teorema," Małgorzata Szumowska's Never Gonna Snow Again finds a pleasingly calm and Russian-accented masseur named Zhenia (Alec Utgoff of Stranger Things) ministering to a needy gated community in Poland. Zhenia is perhaps a little too good at his job, though, with abilities that encroach on the magical, so his appearance in this small and competitive enclave can't help but stir up trouble.
