Cybersecurity is a concern for most companies and individuals today. Not a single day passes without news reporting a system hack that was successful either by exploiting software vulnerabilities. This creates a climate of fear that paradoxically serve malicious people who target non-expert users with social engineering techniques. What does it mean and how much shall we be worried when we receive an e-mail containing one actual password we used, asking for bitcoin payment?
In this talk, we will look at some attacks and threats with a critical eye, trying to distinguish between realistic ones that require protective measures, and intimidation attempts that can safely be ignored.
