Join us (virtually) to watch and listen Claude Chaudet, Head of Computer Science at Webster University Geneva, presenting his research "Internet of Things for Smarter Cities"
When it comes to traffic management in urban environments, the usual response of policy makers is to make drivers life harder in order to discourage them from taking their personal vehicles in favor of public transportation.
Doing so effectively reduces traffic, but at the price of a saturation of the network, which has a negative impact on the noise and stress level in cities, without necessarily significantly reducing the air pollution level.
In this seminar, we will look at models of that problem and review solutions that use the Internet of Things technologies to regulate the traffic in (smart) cities with respect to global objectives.
