About this Event
From 11/6 to 11/19, Film Series patrons can rent Damnation. Fresh from this year's New York Film Festival comes the new 4K restoration of Béla Tarr's 1988 film Damnation. Hungarian auteur Tarr (Sátántangó, Werckmeister Harmonies, The Turin Horse) has long been a favorite of Film Series patrons, and Damnation marks his first film with key collaborator László Krasznahorkai. Something of an Eastern Bloc noir, here Tarr finds his aesthetic of incredible black and white compositions and long takes, and before us blossoms an early entry in the current slow cinema movement.
