“The Beating: Power and Control in a Refugee Camp”

The modern phenomenon of refugee migration has delivered very complex legal, political and sociocultural problems. This lecture reviews the difficulties faced by all key actors involved in a refugee camp, approaching this subject at a micro and personal level by reviewing an apparent human rights violation in a refugee camp. It attempts to unpack the occurrence by introducing a set of deeper complex meanings and relationships in the event.
