About this Event
8274 Big Bend Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63119
A Night of Ideas is organized in 19 US cities this year, and more than a 100 worldwide. It is a collaboration with the French Embassy in Washington DC, and the French Consulate in Chicago. Here is the American website: https://nightofideas.org
The concept of St. Louis’ Nuit des idées (A Night of Ideas) is simple and straight forward. Participants such as our very own Dr. Julian Schuster (President of Webster University), Dr. Warren Rosenblum (Professor of History), Isabelle Heidbreder (Honorary Consul of France in St. Louis), and Jane Robert (CF donor and former President of the American Alliance Française) would answer the following question: “Where are we headed?”
All participants will tackle this question, in Ted-Talk fashion and in English, according to their respective fields of expertise and in no more than 5 minutes. The idea is to share expectations, aspirations, and concerns for the future of St. Louis, from different angles and perspectives... all in light of current/ongoing events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Each participant will have to answer questions and interact with the audience for about 10 minutes after their short presentations. Everyone in the audience is more than encouraged to ask the participants questions or make remarks.
This event will take place on Tuesday, May 3, 7-9 pm at the ISB 160 auditorium. Refreshments and snacks will be served for the first 30 minutes before the talks.
