As books are being banned across the country, join the library team in a silent statement as we stand up for our right to read. The American Library Association has designated the first week of October as Banned Books Week.  ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom documented 1,269 demands to censor library books and resources in 2022.

Webster University Library will honor your right to read by hosting a Banned Book Read In on October 2, 2023, from 9am-6pm.

Come to the library, choose a banned book from our carts, grab a snack and a sticker (while they last,) and find a comfy place to read. Stay as long as you like. It's a quiet way to stand up for the freedom to read. Everyone is welcome!
