ASIFA Central is the Midwest USA Chapter of ASIFA, the International Animation Association (l’Association Internationale du Film d’Animation). Founded in France by a group of professional animators and chartered by UNESCO in 1960, ASIFA’s goal is to encourage the art of animation and further promote international understanding and goodwill through the medium of the animated film. There are about 4,500 members and 30 chapters worldwide including seven in the USA.

The retreat is open to all students, ASIFA members, and regional animators in St. Louis. It will include a pixilation workshop, several animation screenings, and micro talks by academics from regional universities, students, and animators.
