Allen Carl Larson "The Sisters Backstage" Book & Archives Presentation

The Webster University Community is invited to celebrate the new book of Dr. Allen Carl Larson. The Sisters Backstage is a collection of letters between two Sisters of Loretto from Webster College and hotel magnate Conrad N. Hilton. Covering a period from 1958 through 1963, they are some of the most beautiful and compelling communiqués one can find. They tell a story of faith, hope, perseverance and philanthropy as they lead up to the commitment from Mr. Hilton to fund the building of one of Saint Louis’ most important cultural venues - The Webster University Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts.

Dr. Larson is presenting and donating these letters to the Webster University Archives, a wonderful addition that helps tell the behind the scenes story of this turning point in Webster’s history.

If you would like to purchase a copy of The Sisters Backstage, they will be available for $30, cash or checks will be accepted. All profits will go to the Sr. Francetta Barberis Scholarship Fund.**

Dr. Allen Carl Larson, PhD. has been an orchestral and choral conductor for over 60 years and holds both masters and doctoral degrees from Indiana University. He is Professor Emeritus of Webster University where he led the Webster Symphony Orchestra for 36 years. He is presently Conductor Laureate of The Metropolitan Orchestra of Saint Louis.
