A dramatization of the 1974 book about the scandal that began in 1972, All the President’s Men follows Washington Post journalists Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) and Bob Woodward (Robert Redford) as they pull at an investigative thread about a break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters that eventually results in what we now know as the Watergate scandal. An interesting case of a landmark film being made near-concurrently with the events it depicts, one doesn’t need to dust for fingerprints to find All the President’s Men’s mark on later films such as Spotlight and Zodiac.
