In Our Day is Hong Sangsoo’s 30^th feature film and his second new film to play at the Webster Film Series so far in 2024. (And will his next one, the already complete A Traveler’s Needs, make it here before 2024 is complete? Maybe!) Here we have the mirrored stories of the 40s-ish Jungsoo and the 70s-ish Uiji. Jungsoo (Song Sunmi) has a beloved cat, Us, and is visited by her actress friend Sangwon (Hong regular Kim Minhee) and her cousin Jisoo (Park Miso). Uiji (Ki Joobong) just lost his cat to old age and finds a young actor named Jaewon (Ha Seongguk) at his door. In both stories our characters eat, drink, and have lengthy conversations, as people in Hong films tend to do.
