Following the events of 1931’s Frankenstein (last on our screen in February 2023), 1935’s sequel Bride of Frankenstein gets the old gang back together—director James Whale, Colin Clive as Dr. Frankenstein, Boris Karloff as the creature—and right away reveals that both Dr. Frankenstein and his creature are alive after all. After Dr. Frankenstein’s former mentor Dr. Pretorius (Ernest Thesiger) kidnaps his wife, Frank is forced to make a new creature. Featuring Elsa Lanchester in a dual role as both author Mary Shelley and the bride.
