Peter Milich, visiting professor in the Department of History, Politics, and International Relations, will be giving a brown-bag lunch talk at noon on Tuesday, December 5, in the Library Conference Room. The talk, titled “Strategies for Navigating New Cold War Shoals in the Classroom” will focus on the difficulties of teaching controversial topics, such as U.S.-Russia relations, in the current political climate, where scholars whose work challenges the dominant narratives on the subject can find themselves the target of neo-McCarthyite smears. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to bring their lunch and participate in this important conversation.
