Doing Business in China: Culture, Courtesy, and Common Sense - Seminar *Rescheduled

* Due to the impact of Hurricane Irma, Dr. Briggs's lecture tomorrow is canceled.  We will announce the new date later this week or next week.

The presentation discusses the opportunities and challenges facing western companies entering the highly competitive business arena in mainland China.  Dr. Briggs will discuss the preparatory processes and knowledge that are essential to business entrepreneurs who wish to engage in contemporary and future business of any type in China, and the implications of Chinese history, culture, government, and business practices on such opportunities. A prominent feature of the presentation is a detailed discussion regarding the numerous variables involved in preparing for and functioning in a business culture that is in many ways markedly different from our own.

Dr. Glenn W. Briggs has been on the faculty of Webster University's Space Coast Campuses for twenty-four years.  An Organization Development Consultant in private practice, he is retired from both the military and the Kennedy Space Center.  He is currently a member of the adjunct faculties of several other universities in the United States, France, and China. Dr. Briggs has traveled extensively in ninety-six countries and has resided and taught in the Far East for eighteen years to include five years in the Philippines, seven in Southeast Asia, and six years in China.  Dr. Briggs is also the Program Mentor for Webster's Master's Degree in Human Resource Management.
