The Department of Art, Design and Art History invites you to the Friday Forum lecture with Rusty Freeman, director of visual arts, Cedarhust Center for the Arts, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
His talk is titled, "How Questioning Truth Turned into Parody: Critical Reading Strategies and What to Do with 'Fake News'."
Freeman will discuss critical reading strategies that he uses as an art museum curator; suggest that questioning truth was taken too far; and that the skills we learn for interpreting art can teach us something about tolerance, diversity, and critiquing fake news.
